Conference Theme: “Celebrating our Past: Inspiring Our Future”
Ontario’s Community Legal Clinics came together in 1997 to form the Association of Community Legal Clinics of Ontario as the representative voice of the clinics. Since then, working as an integrated system, clinics have excelled in advancing the rights of the disadvantaged communities that they serve. Since 1997, clinics have expanded in number and in impact thanks to funding for the clinic system that has more than doubled. We will take a few moments at the 2017 ACLCO Annual Conference and AGM to celebrate our collective accomplishments over these past 20 productive and unifying years.
The theme of this year’s Annual Conference and AGM is “Celebrating our Past: Inspiring our Future”. As part of the expansion of clinic law services, clinics have entered into innovative and promising partnerships with one another, with community partners, others in the justice sector as well as other sectors concerned with social justice. The 2017 ACLCO Annual Conference and AGM will provide clinics a forum in which to discuss and learn about successful, collaborative experiences that have resulted in improving the legal welfare of their communities. The goal is to harness the strengths in our diverse clinic system to continue to punch above our weight!
The ACLCO’s AGM and business meeting will take place on Saturday afternoon. Member clinics will receive reports from the Executive as well as the auditor’s report and will elect their representatives for next year’s Executive.
Place: Oakham House, Ryerson University
