Clinic Staff in Action
Meet Mohamed Bsat, a staff lawyer practicing within housing and human rights at the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic (HCLC) – and in his community – a rep program basketball coach.
CBC recently interviewed Mo in that important role and how he’s making a difference beyond the court in the lives of young men in Hamilton. His U14 team is learning about body acceptance and ‘what it is to be tough’.
“I’m also mindful that these athletes are more than athletes and that basketball doesn’t exist in a vacuum, you know, there are systemic influences and factors that will either have negative or positive effects in their life. I believe that reading these three books will help them navigate life as they move forward as young men.”
